    Yes [Y] JOB Discription ....

You couldn't get a job at McDonald's and become District Manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become Chief of Surgery after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the Superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a General after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the Nightly News Anchor after 143 days of experience.

    BUT....
'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief,Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start,
and strangely, a large sector of the American public is OK with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet many are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we're not voting for the next American Idol!

Please forward this...a lot of folks need to do some serious thinking!

Don't dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska
    National Guard-- consider this.

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense
    system.
The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the
unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks.
It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military
issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to
classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds
    Obama's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force
(ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland
    Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to
the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she
may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February,
but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

If he loses he may be remembered as the biggest flop of the democrats. If he wins he may go down in history as a huge flop on a global scale (and we all may go down with him). Let's pray that after November he will be just a bad dream that we all woke up from.

    Re: JOB Discription ....

A governor of ANY state gives the order to deploy the national guard based on recommendations of their staff. Like when a tornado hits they send the guard out to prevent looting and help the citizens in any way they can. But as far as day to day running of the Guard units, a governor has no more to do with it than anyone else in the state.

Likewise with any other military unit in a state. Those are all overseen by the pentagon, not the state or local government.

Nothing against Palin, and certainly not to support Obama, but claiming she has military leadership experience is just trying to spin a positive on her short political career.

That said, however, The President gives the order to deploy the US armed forces, based on recommendations of his advisers. He (or in this case she) makes the executive decision and leaves the day to day running of the military to the military commanders. Palin IS qualified to do that, just like she is qualified to deploy the Alaska National Guard.

So trumping up her military leadership expertise is bulls**t because it's just not there. But it's also not a requirement of the job. The President doesn't need to be an experienced military commander-he/she needs to have good advice from the joint chiefs from which to make the executive decision.

If it comes to an executive decision, she's as qualified as any candidate to make it. But if you're saying that she's qualified to develop military strategy and tactics for the armed forces because she was technically the leader of the Alaskan National Guard, then the Dems aren't the only ones pouring kool-aid.

I'd rather see those decisions made bu people who have made a career and a life out of military service. I'll take the Joint Chiefs and commanders who've been there-done that.

Oh yeah...you can't be American Idol after only 143 days singing experience either.

I read and it could be looked up . That during those 143 days Obam. voted PRESENT most of the time. Couldn't  decide even then  which way to vote.  Or didn't want to leave a paper trail on many votes.

So true. In both the Illinois Senate and the U.S. Senate, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” to avoid controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he missed more than one in five votes. Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator has been enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”
