    Dehorning

What does de-horning mean exactly? Is it recommended? Does it affect warranty?

    Re: Dehorning

All the sharp edges are rounded and smoothed out.  I don't think it's possible on the aluminum framed pistols.  I also think it would be difficult to do the slides for much of the Thunder line since the slides would have to be re-nickel plated or re-coated with whatever the coating is on the matte and duo-tone versions.

    Re: Dehorning

I've used a Dremel tool with a rubber polishing wheel in the past with good results.  It gets rid of burrs, sharp edges, and smoothes out loading ramps and linkages.  I don't think it would void your warranty.

    Re: Dehorning

Just be advised that the frames on the Thunder line are anodized aluminum.  Once you compromise the anodizing you have bare aluminum exposed to the elements and that means corrosion.

Take dremel out to drive way and run over 3 or 4 times make sure really crushed. Been more guns runined  by dremel and home gunsmithing . 1911's worst for this. In case of those I think owner should have wire brush and dremel running max shove up  their ..................

NO !!!   Don't run over them in the driveway......just pack them up and send them to me. I can use them for carving in antler and such. They can be very destructive sometimes. Even bite occasionally. Surprise [:O]
