Range report,New Bersa Thunder 45 UC

WOW, I must have one of the good ones that will not need much break in. Just finished putting 115 rounds through my new pistol and no matter what I tried I could not get it to malfunction. Rapid fire, slow fire, double tap, even tried a few rounds with a weak grip, and scary accurate. Ammo was 100 rounds of 230 grain FMJ Wal Mart white box, plus 15 rounds of Federal 230 Hydra-Shok. No trouble with the slide or slide release.

Congratulations, I'm glad to hear it.

I'm going to stay away from WWB for a while. I may try some later on to see what happens. Right now I'm  just happy that I seem to have found ammo that my 45UC "likes", and I'll stick with Mag Tech and Blazer for the time being.

Congrats. I've never had any problem with mine either. Remington or Magtech are both flawless. I just bought a Rock Chucker press and am going to reload some 230 gr FMJ. We'll see how she likes that!

BTW, did you get a matt, nickel, or stainless? I have a theory that (maybe) the stainless don't really need a break in.

Thank you, when I first field stripped my weapon for its initial cleaning I noticed that the guide rod recoil spring has an additional spring interwoven into the spring that is attached to the rod pin. Do you know if that is standard or did the factory add an additional spring for some ejection problems?

My T9UC has the same interwoven spring (new from factory 5/2008). Since I have no other Bersa I figured it was just they way the did it.

Both my 45UC and 9UC have the double spring set-up. Apparently it's the standard set-up.

Congrats on your new gun. Glad it went so well with no problems. My 380 was the same way. The 9mm has had a few FTE but it isn't broke in yet. Have fun wioth your toy.
