My favorite pistol is my dad's 1925 Colt Target pistol.  He was on the Montana State College Pistol Team from 1936 to 1940.  He gave me the gun 30 + years ago.  It is very accurate.  My dad has passed on but I still value his gun and shoot it.  My favorite modern pistols are my Bersa and XD 9 mm SC.

My Fav would be the gun I grew up with.. My dads (now mine) Browning "Sweet 16" - 5shot auto shotgun. Mom got it for dad before they were married in 1945. Its also a Belgian made gun. He use to take me duck hunting with it when I was a kid...

A smith and Wesson 12 gauge auto shotgun, its nice too look at (shiny n pretty n a great physical  design shape) , a wonderful bird gun, for some reason it just feels so good to shoulder n shoot  , and the only thing I have left of my grandfather.

I had a Model 1000 12 gauge, Circa 1977, was adevertised as a self cleaning semi, worked really good until I cleaned it, then gave problems and I ended up trading for a Smith pump.  They are beautiful, Kind of wish I still had it, but really love the pump, I have a 12 and 20 Smith of the same vintage in Pump.  In the mid and late 70's, Smith & Wesson expanded into shotguns, rifle and ammo.  I still have some nyclad semi-wadcutter hollowpoints 38 sp and some 170 grain 270 power points from that era.  I also had a Smith Bolt Action in .223.  After what seemed like about 3 years, Smith & Wesson abandoned the long guns and ammo and went back to what brought em there.  Today they are getting adventurous again.

I'm a little suprised by MT's response, I thought his choice would have began with and M and ended with a 16 and been made by Colt.

    Re: Favorite Firearm

I think the S/W 1000 shotguns were a Japanese adventure, not worth much..but i have no complaints. I have shotguns that are worth alot more, but if I bird hunt I take it. Looks good, feels good, accurate!!

    Re: Favorite Firearm

Current pistol is my XD40SC, but my new T9UC is rapidly catching it. I have a Savage Model 24, .22Mag/ 410 shotgun over and under that I got on my 16th birthday and still have that will always hold a spot on my top firearm list.

I did really like the M60 machine gun for what it could do, while I was in the Army though.

Yup, I agree that only picking one is Un American.  Everybody knows ya gotta have a belly gun as back up.

I like the Ruger .22 single six too and wouldn't mind a .22/.22wmr Ruger.  Nice shooters for sure.

I actually like my .45 and now that I have a shoulder holster for it, I might actually carry it when woods walking on Fed. land, but the Bersa will be my main squeeze.  The little .380 is a sweet shooter.

I'll keep my guns, freedom and money. You keep the *change*.
