.380 and ammo

So I picked up my first Bersa today a Thunder 380. Love the little gun. Fired a lot of rounds and all the FMJ's functioned flawlessly however as soon as I put Gold-Dot's in every other round jammed. Anyone experience the same.

I had the same issue. I picked up my new (Nickel) Bersa Thunder 380 on Saturday and went to the range on Sunday. I fired almost 50 rounds of Remington FMJ with no issues, but I had 4 jams out of a box of 20 Speer Gold Dots.

From everything I've read on here and other message boards, there seems to be about a 200 round break in period on the Bersa 380. After that, it should eat just about everything you feed it, including HP's.

I'm hoping that turns out to be the case, because I love my Bersa. It is a sweet, well made, fun to shoot pistol.

JHP is not recommended during break in. After that, you should be fine.

I had a similar experience with WWB. Looking at the tip of the bullet, which is flattened, it appears that it gets hung up at the bottom of the barrel/top of the ramp. There is a very slight flat area there as well. I'm also hoping this will improve with use because I have 90gr gold dots I'd like to use for SD and it sounds like that might be an issue until the gun is fully broken in.
