That was back when they let the military run the war. Starting with Korea, the politicians took over & we ain't won one since. If Patton had lived & been involved in Korea, he'd probably ended up being court martialed 'cause he would not have put up with that BS.

Your post is 100% correct. I am retired from the military and in my 30 years I have only seen one General that was not a politician. They have no backbone all they care about is their asses. just watch the congressional hearing when they are called to testify. What a bunch of idiots shaking in their highly shined shoes. Everyone praised Colen Powell as a great leader. He spent the Gulf war in washington going to cocktail party's. The real hero was Schwarzkopf. Now there is a General for you.
