UC .45 PRO Barrel wear.

Postby binarybro » Wed May 26, 2010 1:48 pm

I've just purchased a Thunder 45 UC PRO new.

After having put 70 rounds through it without even a hiccup, I discovered some wear on the barrel I thought I'd ask about.

Is the wear in the attached photo considered normal for this model during the break-in process?

Thanks, Mike.

I don'r recall seeing that on any of my Bersas. Just got my UC 45, so haven't shot it yet. Seems I read a thread where someone asked the same question, but I don't remember where. You might be able to get an answer at Bersa Chat, a lot of Bersa owners there.

If this a nickel version this is common. I HAD a Fire Storm Mini-45 that did the same thing. Look forward to more of this in the days ahead or trade for a blued one! Just my 2 pennies worth.........

Yes this is the nickel version.

My concern is not over the nickel that's flacking off in that area. I too, am aware that this can be common.

I'm worried about the area where the barrel transitions from round to square. That corner there, seems to have hit the interior of the slide during it's cycle.
